Training visit with students from the University of Granada

Training visit with students of the University of Granada

CEMOSA collaborates with several universities to help train the best professionals.

On May 24th, CEMOSA guided some students from the University of Granada to learn about geotechnical tests focused on the definition of geological risks in the field of urban planning. With this visit, they were able to observe everything from the execution of a borehole and the tests that can be carried out on them to geophysical methods, which allow us to define discontinuities in depth.

The geologist in charge of the visit was our colleague Juan Manuel Rodríguez and the professor of the University of Granada Jesús Garrido.

Below are some of the photographs taken during the visit:

CEMOSA is in charge of drafting the project for the construction of a network of pipes for the tertiary treatment of treated wastewater at the Guadalhorce wastewater treatment plant in Malaga

In order to prevent a large part of the 160,000 m3 of wastewater treated at the Guadalhorce treatment plant (Malaga) from continuing to be discharged into the sea, 12 km of pipelines will be used to supply areas such as Torremolinos, Guadalmar and Churriana with recycled water.

This project, of great environmental value, aims to increase the tertiary treatment capacity of the treatment plant by 14,000 m3 per day and subsequently create a distribution network consisting of a reservoir, 12 km of pipes and the necessary pumping systems to pump the flow to the various destinations.

Among these points where the water will be consumed are facilities such as Malaga Airport, the Benitez campsite, the Parador de Golf in Guadalmar and the new residential areas planned in Churriana, among others.

In this project, CEMOSA has drafted the construction project using BIM methodology for this distribution network.

Pozoblanco North-West Bypass Project (Córdoba)

CEMOSA has been awarded the contract for the “DRAFTING OF THE PROPOSAL AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE POZOBLANCO NORTHWEST BY-PASS BETWEEN THE A-3177 AND A-423 ROADS”, for the Department of Development, Infrastructures and Territorial Planning of the Regional Government of Andalusia.

The purpose of the project is to give continuity to the existing Pozoblanco bypass and connect it with the A-3177 road. This will complete the connection with the road network to Pozoblanco, increasing accessibility from the north, which is very important for access to Pozoblanco Hospital, which provides health care for the whole of the Valle de los Pedroches region.

This action would complete the population variation, executed by the Junta de Andalucía in 2008, allowing the total elimination of crossings and resolving the road conflict in the urban environment.

Happy World Creativity and Innovation Day!

Since 2007, CEMOSA has an R&D&I department. We are highly committed to this area, as it is of vital importance to acquire knowledge through the necessary human and economic resources, establishing an R&D policy and defining objectives that are reviewed every year.

In order to provide value to the client and to society in general, we want our technical staff to be in permanent training, through continuous participation in R&D&I projects.

CEMOSA’s concern for continuous development has been recognised and valued with grants from Public Administrations: European Union (7th Framework Programme, H2020 programme), Spanish Government (CDTI, Ministry of Industry) and the Andalusian Regional Government (Junta de Andalucía). Others have been financed by clients or by CEMOSA itself. In addition, we have held the UNE 166002:2014 Standard Certificate “R&D&I Management: R&D&I Management System Requirements” since 2009.

Our R&D&I development areas include Transport Infrastructures (innovative infrastructure design, intelligent maintenance, advanced motorisation and impact assessment) and Building and Energy Efficiency (Integration of renewable energy systems in buildings, building refurbishment with advanced materials, projects based on Building Information Modelling, technologies for smart grids and smart cities).

These images accompanying this publication are from the University of Malaga demonstrator within the ebalanceplus project, coordinated by CEMOSA, where new technologies for smart grids have been demonstrated.
